MNPN Pray without Ceasing # 39
15 February 2010
Church & Nation Government Transformation  1Malaysia

Praise God for His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning (Ps 30:5).
  1. The Church (1 Col 1:9-12)
    • we will be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding
    • we will live our lives honouring and pleasing Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God
    • we will be strengthened with His power so that we will not give up when trouble comes but will be patient
    • we will joyfully give thanks to our Father, the living God, always
    • we will compassionately reach out to the youth who are facing identity crises, who are lost in their moral pursuit
  2. Pray for the maturity of our national leaders, ministers, members of Parliament, representatives of rakyat, and all those who serve in the federal government and the state governments: men and women of good moral standing and discernment, humble and sacrificial, hate evil, love good and establish justice.
    • They will walk in integrity and serve dilligently
    • They will not perverse in their speech, their lips will bring peace not strife, their mouths call for harmony not blows.  They will not show partiality to the wicked nor thrust aside righteous in judgment.
    • They will not politicise issues nor manipulate public sentiment
      • Star reported: The removal of illegal hawkers from the streets should not be politicised, they have to be moved because their presence worsens traffic woes, said Penang Transport Council (14/2/10)
  3. Pray for the judges, particularly those of the Federal Court, to be impartial in their judgments, free of political bias and pressure, have the ability and will to execute fairness and justice.
  4. Pray that the Home Ministry will have wisdom and discernment in carrying out their duties (not abusing its power), and respect rakyat's right to freedom of expression.
    • Star reported: "Malaysiakini wants the Home Ministry to stop harrassing bookstores selling 2 books from its publishing arm Kinibooks, 1Funny Malaysia and Where is Justice"(13/2/10)
  5. Pray that all raykat regardless of background will enjoy a fair and just system and good governance
    • we will commit to nurture national unity, always respect and forgive one another
    • we will be politically mature and sensible, able to hold our MPs and national leaders accountable; we will give constructive criticism and our speech will be seasoned with grace.
    • we will improve in our civic consciousness and exercise courtesy in all circumstances
    • we will uphold good moral values without being puritanical

Economy     "The goods and services tax (GST) will be exempted for selected basic goods and services, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah... this included domestic consumption of water supply and electricity up to a certain limit, basic foodstuff, residential accommodation, education, health services and public transportation."
